The 1940s was the first glorious period in the history of Valencia CF. After reaching the elite in the 1930s and with Mestalla as their permanent home, Valencia CF were more than established in the top tier of Spanish football and the bats began to fly high.
Epi, Amadeo, Mundo, Asensi and Gorostiza formed the 'electric forward line', which led Valencia CF from the 1940-41 season until the 1945-46 season. During those years, Valencia CF won two league titles and a cup.
The first of Valencia CF's domestic titles came about in the manner of the 1941 Cup. In the final played on 19 June 1941 in Chamartín, the contribution of the bangers, as the 'delantera eléctrica' (Electric front line) with two goals from Mundo and another from Asensi to seal a 3-1 home win over RCD Espanyol.
The following season, 1941-42, Valencia CF continued their magnificent momentum by winning their first league title with Mundo as the top scorer.
Two seasons later, in 1943-44, Valencia CF claimed their second league title, again with Mundo as the top scorer. In addition, during the years of the 'delantera eléctrica', Valencia CF won three Cup runners-up medals.
Epi, Amadeo, Mundo, Asensi and Gorostiza led the first Valencia CF winning side and delighted the Mestalla crowd with their goals.
